My 2nd CSA box of the season came yesterday and along with other goodies it came with a little baby dill plant begging to be rehomed in a proper pot. I guess this means I have to get off my ass and go buy a planter. But I also need more mulch so I guess now I have to go. |

While buying mulch yesterday, Zak pointed out the baby fruit trees for sale. Things like that make me wish we owned instead of rented. |

Livejournal? What's that? Life is too repetitious for journaling lately. |

Please stop teasing me, I can't take it anymore. I want to throw the windows open and light up the grill. I want to drink beers on the deck of Jays and look forward to walking places instead of running for the metro. I have a seriously hard time with the lack of sunlight in winter and I hate the cold. I would like to be a reasonably chipper person again. So hurry it the fuck up already.
Thanks, Jade |

The rules are that for 8 days you have to post something that made you happy that day. Tag 8 people to do the same. I tag everyone, because I think we should all think about good things right now.
Day 1: Getting my paper turned in last night, wooh! |

Day 2 : Learning alot and enjoying the topic even if I'm totally sick of writing papers. |

Today I bought my first box of Ener-G vegan egg replacer because it was on super sale on the discount shelf at the grocery store. So excited to try it out and now that my officemate has decided to try and give up eggs and dairy, I have someone else to push vegan baked goodies on.
I may not be vegan, but I'll be damned if I don't love me some vegan cooking and baking! |

That episode last night was so weird to me. My formative years were now long ago enough to be a nostalgic pop culture flashback.
SADGASM! Hahaha. |

I want sunshine, beer, assorted sushi and vegan foods, a good jukebox, smiling friends, a clear head, to break down this intellectual wall I'm feeling, a good bottle of wine, and a good metal concert. Oh and to paid for doing something worthwhile. Order up, please.
That's all. I'll be in hiding for the next two weekends. For sigh, why do I suck at time management. |

| Lakota Sioux Indians Declare Sovereign Nation Status |
[Dec. 21st, 2007|12:45 pm] |

"In order to stop the continuous taking of our resources – people, land, water and children- we have no choice but to claim our own destiny," said Phyllis Young, a former Indigenous representative to the United Nations and representative from Standing Rock.
Property ownership in the five state area of Lakota now takes center stage. Parts of North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming and Montana have been illegally homesteaded for years despite knowledge of Lakota as predecessor sovereign [historic owner]. Lakota representatives say if the United States does not enter into immediate diplomatic negotiations, liens will be filed on real estate transactions in the five state region, clouding title over literally thousands of square miles of land and property.
Young added, "The actions of Lakota are not intended to embarrass the United States but to simply save the lives of our people". |

Curtosey of you I have spent the work day silently jamming at my desk to the likes of Sonic Youth, The Smiths, Morrisey, Modest Mouse, Cat Power, PJ Harvey, New Order and generally being totally nostalgic for my old box of ridiculous vinyl clothing. |

Today is the day for short and meaningless posts!
Today I have made roasted red pepper hummus, fresh guacamole, and both homemade baked potato and tortilla chips. I have done this while working on this stupid management plan. I hate you, management plan and it is quite obvious that I must have many distractions to tolerate you. |

I have this overwhelming urge to purchase many feet of lights, a tree, and pine-scented candles. I need to get a chimney-sweep log before we can start up the fireplace. I've been sort of a humbug person about the Holidays for many years. It seems, however, that this year I'm all about it. I don't think I'll have the time or money until about 2 weeks before Christmas to get anything done; good thing we're those people who left our outside lights up all year! Don't get me wrong, as a religious holiday Christmas means nothing to me - I'm not the religious type. Spirituality is more my jam. But I do love lights, snow, wassail, silly holiday movies, roaring fires, gaudy trees, seasonal baking and cooking, and I've even learned to enjoy spending the time with my family. Friends were never a problem. My house looks so plain right now. |
